Frequently Asked Questions

What is hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic technique that uses guided relaxation and focused attention to help individuals access their subconscious mind, addressing issues like anxiety, phobias, and unwanted habits.

How can stress management help me?

Stress management involves techniques such as mindfulness, relaxation exercises, and cognitive behavioural strategies to help individuals cope with and reduce the impact of daily stress on their health and well-being.

What is personal development?

Personal development is the process of improving oneself through activities like goal setting, confidence building, and overcoming self-limiting beliefs, ultimately leading to personal and professional growth.

How many sessions (counselling, hypnotherapy, lifestyle coaching) do I need?

The number of counselling sessions you may need depends on several factors, such as the nature of the issue, your goals, and your progress. Here are some general guidelines:

  1. Short-term counselling (6-12 sessions):

    • Typically for addressing specific, situational issues (e.g., stress, anxiety, grief, decision-making).

    • Counselling using Cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) and solution-focused therapy techniques often follow this structure.

  2. Medium-term counselling (12-24 sessions):

    • Suitable for more complex issues like trauma, depression, relationship problems, or deeper emotional challenges.

  3. Long-term counselling (6 months or more):

    • May be needed for chronic mental health conditions, deep-rooted patterns, ongoing life challenges, or personal development.

    • Psychodynamic therapy techniques and certain types of talk therapy often take this approach.

We can adjust the number of sessions based on your progress and comfort level.

What times can I book a session?

Hope and Healing counsellors work from 9am to 7pm.

We are open to arranging other hours to suit you, these hours are available on discussion with your preferred counsellor.

How many sessions per week do I need?

Usually one session per week is enough but we can provide two sessions per week if required.
